Product Update - 1770 LARC! Tours

Tour Frequency Increased As Picnic Lunch Proves Popular

What started out as a casual, relaxed Sunday drive has now become a regular 2-5 day per week excursion at 1770 LARC! Tours. So, what actually happens on the LARC+Lunch tour…

Behind the scenes, bright and early in the morning, the café next door to the 1770 LARC! Tours office – the 1770 Marina Café - preps the freshly made picnic, consisting of bountiful homemade wraps. The personal daily service of both 1770 LARC! Tours and 1770 Marina Café allows for tour guests to select their own preferences for the fillings of their wraps - Shaved Ham, Shredded Chicken Breast or Roast Vegetables.

Add a selection of fresh fruit, biscuits and crackers, plus chilled refreshments and the fresh LARC+Lunch! Picnic is packed.

Once guests have checked in and the engine of the amphibious LARC! vessel starts up, the skipper wastes no time introducing his ‘captive crowd’ to the most unfamiliar feeling, driving from dry land into the clear waters of Round Hill Creek, north of the Town of 1770 in the spectacular Southern Great Barrier Reef region of Queensland.

In true ‘don’t try this at home’ fashion, the LARC! negotiates sandbars, tidal creeks and the beaches in the vicinity of two national parks and home to kangaroos, emus, dolphins, turtles, rays and a great variety of seabirds.

The skipper’s commentary will entertain and inform guests all the way to the untouched stretch of beach where you arrive to find the only footprints in the sand are those of the feather, furred and scaled kind, and it’s now time to disembark the LARC! for a beachcomber.

A large and ancient She-Oak tree shades the selected picnic location, with its prime positioning to gaze at the scenic, untouched surroundings.

Two hours of immersing in this natural Queensland seaside environment and exploring by LARC! vessel makes every day feel like a lazy Sunday! Yet, due to popular demand, 1770 LARC! Tours now offer their LARC+Lunch tour every Friday and Sunday. Plus, during school holidays and busy periods, or just because we can (!!), this tour can now be available up to 5 times a week, depending on demand.

Contact the friendly 1770 LARC! Tours office by phone or email anytime, they are open 7 days, and they love sharing the spectacular 1770 surroundings with guests. And you can read an extended version of this tour update on our blog https://1770larctours.com.au/lunching-all-week-long/
