New accommodation and turtle experience in Bargara

Welcome to Turtle Sands - a new nature resort nestled behind the dunes of the globally significant Mon Repos turtle nesting beach near Bundaberg, Queensland.

Watch -

It is home to the largest colony of nesting marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland and the largest nesting population of the endangered loggerhead turtle in the South Pacific.

Opening in September 2024, the new accommodation will offer 2 and 3 bedroom villas, glamping safari tents, studio cabins including accessible cabins, and powered sites stretching right along the beachfront.

Along with the new accommodations Turtle Sands offers a resort-style pool, pool lounge, e-bikes, EV charging, shared kitchen facilities and facilities block.

The resort offers easy access to tours to see turtles' nest and hatch from November to April and other sea and nature experiences year-round.

Their vision is to offer our guests a unique, first-of-its kind accommodation experience with exclusive access to nature’s most amazing moments. The team at Turtle Sands are looking to work with eco-tourism businesses who align with our commitment to environmental and social outcomes.
